It’s almost time for the COOKSHACK SHARABLES COOKOFF! August 30, 2025 – 6 pm
Instructions for Teams
Step 1: Form a Team and Plan Your Menu
• Get your neighbours involved and plan to cook up your best sharable dishes — small bites, appetizers, or plates made for sharing.
Step 2: Register Your Team
• Send an email to jr.t4c0@gmail.com with:
◦ Your team name
◦ Your Cookshack number
Event Rules
• Shareables need to be ready for 6 pm and available until 7:30 pm (or when supplies run out).
• Everything must be made using your Cookshack and wood stove.
✨ Tips for Success
• Make enough samples so lots of people can try each of your dishes.
• Stock some burnable napkins, paper plates, and wooden utensils to keep things sanitary and dishes to a minimum.
• Note any common food allergens (e.g., nuts, eggs) in case tasters ask.
• Get creative with atmosphere and decorations.
• Remember: it’s about good food, good fun, and lake community spirit.
Instructions for Tasters
Bring your appetite and carry a beverage
• Watch for event communications for locations and visit all the Cookshacks to try the sharable dishes between 6–7:30 pm.
• Make note of your favourites!
Vote for a Winner
• Instructions on how to cast your vote will be shared before the event.
• Categories include:
◦ Best Tasting Sharable Dish
◦ Most Creative Sharable Dish
◦ Spirit Award (Most Fun Team and Cookshack)
Winners and Prizes
• Winners will be announced on Facebook and through the CLCA email.
• Prizes (in addition to bragging rights!) may be awarded.
End of Season Block Party
Next Saturday, August 30th, 2025
8:00 – 11:00 PM
Main Avenue & 1st Street (in the larger area that leads down to the park and tennis courts)
We’re closing out the season with a duelling piano show you won’t want to miss! ✨
Plus, we’ll have yard games, pickleball, and more.
We’d love for cabin owners to get creative and add to the fun by setting up your own game or activity station! A few ideas:
Rock painting
Fishing game
Guess the number of candies in a jar
…or anything else you can dream up!
If you’re planning to set up a table or activity station, come on down between 6:30–8:00 PM to set up. Please bring all your own gear!
Lastly, as in previous years, we’re looking for some fire tables to use for the evening to add to the ambience. If you have one you’re willing to lend, we’d love to include it!
